The Super Bowl continues to become more and more attractive for gamers around the world. On Wednesday, the Florida Mutineers, a Call of Duty League organization, announced that they are hosting the In The Know Bowl. The event will take place at Super Bowl 54 on Friday, January 31.
Sponsored by Verizon Media’s content brand “In The Know”, the bowl will have one NFL star and Call of Duty player on the same team. In a single-elimination bracket, the teams will duke it out on Modern Warfare‘s 2v2 Gunfight mode.
In The Know Bowl coming to Super Bowl 54
There is certainly a growing interest in gaming and esports among professional athletes. Alongside the In The Know Bowl, there’s the Fortnite Twitch Rivals event and JuJu Smith-Schuster’s celebrity tournament, all taking place in Miami.
The NFL’s biggest stars obviously have a growing desire to connect with the gaming world. Dozens of players are scheduled to make an appearance at these events, with some participating in multiple, such as Keenan Allen of the Los Angeles Chargers.
As previously stated, the In The Know Bowl will pit NFL stars and Call of Duty players against one another. There are eight teams in total, which means the winning team will have to win three Gunfight matches in Modern Warfare to be crowned victorious. Here are the teams for the In The Know Bowl:
- Davante Adams and NoisyButters (Atlanta FaZe)
- Ronnie Stanley and Clix (Misfits Gaming)
- Keenan Allen and Prestinni (Florida Mutineers)
- Todd Gurley and Maux (Mutineers)
- Leonard Williams and Tom Ryan (Mutineers manager)
- Dwayne Haskins and Havok (Mutineers)
- Landon Collins and Skyz (Mutineers)
- Leonard Fournette and Frosty (Mutineers)
Every member of Florida’s starting Call of Duty roster will be competing along with a few other personalities. You can watch the In The Know Bowl on YouTube starting at 5 PM EST on Friday, January 31. You can also view highlights from the event on the Florida Mutineers YouTube channel.
