Popular League of Legends Twitch streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp has announced the return of the Tyler1 Championship Series for its third iteration. Different from the first version, with 16 participating teams in 2017, this year’s event consists of eight teams competing instead. As usual, there is a $50,000 prize for the first-place team and nothing for any of the runners up.

Tyler1 Championship Series
The 2019 Tyler1 Championship Series will consist of a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The left side of the bracket will compete in the Quarterfinals, beginning on Dec 14 at 10:00 a.m. CT. Then, the right side of the bracket will play on Dec 15 at 10:00 a.m. CT. With the losers eliminated, two matches will take place in the Semifinals, allowing one team each to advance to the Finals. The finals will be a best of five, with competitors clashing on Dec 21 for bragging rights and a share of the prize pool.
Players interested in participating must sign up by Dec 8 at 9:00 p.m. CT. While many teams can register for the event, they will be chosen depending on their roster’s average league points. Players currently under League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) contract are also banned from competing in the tournament. This makes it so professionals cannot participate, giving amateur players an even opportunity. You can find a list of all the rules on the team registration page.
All of the Tyler1 Championship Series action will be broadcast on the streamer’s Twitch channel. Popular content creators will be there to cast the event quarterfinals for the first two days. Afterward, Tyler1 will take over the commentating duties for the finals.
