Esports and entertainment company OverActive Media has unveiled the new branding for their Spanish esports organization, MAD Lions. Formerly known as Splyce, the organization has also revealed their starting roster for the 2020 League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Season.

Splyce rebranding to MAD Lions
“This is an exciting day for our organization, as we take another substantial step forward in growing OverActive Media globally,” said Chris Overholt, President and CEO of OverActive Media, in a release. “We want to thank our Splyce fans and invite them to join all of us as we head into an exciting new era in the LEC.”
OverActive Media is well known for Overwatch League franchise Toronto Defiant and the recently entered Call of Duty League with its Toronto Ultra team. With a revamped logo and new color scheme, the rebranding was showcased at the NiceOne Barcelona’s Gaming and Digital Experiences Conferences by Vegetta777 and WillyRex, two of MAD Lions’ YouTube gaming influencers. The duo will also help promote the organization to the Hispanic audience and its fanbase in Spain through native language content, social media, and live activations.
New roster into 2020 LEC Season
“We are so thrilled that our players and our fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the biggest League of Legends competition in Europe,” added Jorge Schnura, Co-Founder and President of MAD Lions and Vice President of Strategy at OverActive Media. “There is so much that Hispanic culture offers the world and we are ready to bring that unique flavor to League of Legends fans throughout Europe and globally.”
In addition, the MAD Lions have revealed their roster for the 2020 LEC Season. It consists of top laner Andrei “Orome” Popa, jungler Zhiqiang “Shadow” Zhao, mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brázda, support Norman “Gistick” Kaiser, and AD carry Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság. Former Splyce Assistant Coach James “Mac” MacCormack will also take over as the franchise’s Head Coach. What do you think about the new branding and roster?
