After Gambit Esports’ 1-2 to 100 Thieves on Day 3 of VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3 Masters Berlin, Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov explained how his team lost the last two maps and his love of 100 Thieves’ Spencer “Hiko” Martin.

According to Chronicle the team started to miss shots and lose momentum late into their defending half on Icebox, the second map, and never managed to find again going into the final game. While he admits nerves were a factor in the loss, this is the young team’s first international LAN, he said it was not the main factor.

“We played against really experienced guys in this game,” Chronicle said.

One of the more experienced players Chronicle and Gambit went up against was Hiko, a fellow Sova main. The two players had a pre-match walkout that consisted of pulling back arrows and shooting them into the non-existent crowd. According to Chronicle, the two met up right before their match and made up the walk out just before they went on-stage.

Gambit Esports will face off against the winner of the Group C’s lower bracket match between Havan Liberty and Crazy Raccoon. The two teams will play on Sept. 14 with the winner competing against Gambit on Sept. 16 for the second, and last, spot in the Knockout Stage.
