Vex, the next League of Legends champion to come to the game, has had her abilities revealed. The new LoL champion will release on Sept. 23 and is a traditional mage with multiple fears built into her kit. Vex has a powerful range of abilities that deal damage, fear and can close gaps between her and her opponent making her a versatile LoL champion. Here are the gloomy mage’s abilities.

Passive: Doom ‘n Gloom

This passive has two parts. The first is Doom which grants Vex a periodical Doom empowerment causing her next basic ability to interrupt dashes and fear enemies. The second is Gloom which marks an enemy champion whenever they dash or blink near her. Once marked, Vex’s next basic attack against the marked champion detonates the mark, dealing bonus damage and refunding the Doom cooldown.

Q: Mistral Bolt

Vex will launch a wave of dark energy forward, dealing magic damage. The wave starts slow and then accelerates past a short length, it also become skinnier the farther it moves away from Vex. The ability should look like an inverted cone, similar to how Heimerdinger’s W ability functions. The ability also detonates Gloom on any marked enemies in its wake.

W: Personal Space

Vex emits a shockwave dealing magic damage around her in a tight circle while also gaining a shield. This ability also detonates Gloom marks.

E: Looming Darkness

Vex sends out a shadow to a location dealing magic damage. It also slows and detonates Gloom marks. Like Aurelion Sol’s Q, the ability increases in size as it travels.

R: Shadow Surge

Vex’s shadow flies forward, marking and dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit. Players can recast the ability to move Vex toward the marked target and deal more damage. If the marked champion dies shortly after taking damage from the ability, the ultimate will reset and can be cast again in a few seconds.

Vex, and her shadow abilities, will drop in LoL Patch 11.19 later this month. She will not be playable at the 2021 League of Legends World Championships.
