On the heels of the new update for Teamfight Tactics coming later this month, Dreamhack is giving players who want a competitive experience outside of ladder a chance to prove themselves and make some money. This Dreamhack TFT tournament is open to anyone.

The Dreamhack Beyond Community Clash tournament will be one of the first tournaments for TFT post mid-set launch. The event is part of Dreamhack’s “Dreamhack Beyond” virtual convention that aims to bring a new interactive experience to fans of pop culture and gaming. The free open entry TFT event will start on July 30th and feature a $2,500 prize pool. Here are all the details that players need to know about the event.

Registration

According to the reddit post, the Community Clash event is open to everyone in any region. There are no age or rank requirements. However, the event will be held on the North American server. This means players will need to have a NA League of Legends account.

There is also a player cap of 1024 players and sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis.

Lastly there is no registration fee. The tournament is free for anyone to enter. Signups are live now through Smash.gg with a deadline to enter by July 21st at 9 a.m. PST.

Format

The format for the event isn’t that competitive intensive, especially with the event only lasting one day. What this means is that every match is best of one until the finals and competition will start at 10 a.m. PST on July 30th and will run until the event is finished.

The best of one format means is that players are split into eight player lobbies and will play one game. At the end of each game, the players placed fifth through eighth will be eliminated. After that new lobbies will form with the advancing players. This will continue until eight players remain.

The finals will consist of three games with the highest point earner after those three games crowned as the Community Clash Champion.

Prize pool distribution and where to watch

The $2500 prize pool will split between the top four players and will break down like this; 1st $1,100, 2nd $800, 3rd $400, 4th $200.

The tournament will also stream live on Twitch with two TFT community figures Boopasaurus and Xeminan casting the action. For exact rules and details for the Dreamhack TFT event check out the official rulebook. Stay tuned to Upcomer for more details on TFT events coming soon.
