Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun rejoined DWG KIA’s starting lineup for their Week 4 loss against Nongshim RedForce. The 22-year-old bot laner was benched from the starting lineup back in Week 2. DGW KIA mid laner Heo “ShowMaker” Su replaced Ghost as jungler Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu took over mid lane duties. To accommodate the role swaps, substitute jungler Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong joined the starting lineup in his natural position.
In Ghost’s time away from the team, DWG KIA dropped one series and three games. However, in the five games he’d started for DWG KiA before being benched, the stats were much different. In fact, Ghost had averaged 7.6 Creep Score per minute and down over 700 gold at 10 minutes into the game. His replacement, ShowMaker, averaged 9.7 CS per minute and down 166 gold at 10 minutes in his 10 starts.
How did Ghost fare in his return to the starting lineup
DWG KIA lost 2-1 to NS RedForce. The team took the first game in 27 minutes with ShowMaker and Canyon going deathless. Ghost, and his lane partner Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee, played a skirmish heavy duo in Kalista and Maokia. The game was smooth and uneventful on the bottom side of the map.
In the second game, DWG KIA and their bot lane did not fare well against pressure. Ghost and BeryL chose Senna and Heimerdinger. They were successfully ganked multiple times by Han “Peanut” Wang-ho. Ultimately, DWG KIA lost the game in 27 minutes. Ghost and BeryL both recorded zero kills, six deaths and one assist.
The third game was much the same as Peanut, and series MVP Lee “Rich” Jae-won, continued to roll over DWG KIA. Ghost recorded a 0/1/0 Kill/Death/Assist score line on Jhin in the Game 3 loss. Across his three game return, Ghost averaged down over 400 gold at 10 minutes and 7 CS per minute. DWG KIA, with Ghost potentially starting again, will face off against Gen.G on Sunday.
Gen.G currently sit atop the LCK standings in first, with no series losses to their name. With a loss to Gen.G, DWG KIA could slide from their second place spot, at the start of Week 4, to fourth depending on other matches.
