Swiss esports organization Team BDS announced April 15 that they have officially signed the entire French roster of the Opportunists VALORANT team.
The acquisition comes off the back of the Opportunists’ recent run at the VALORANT Champions Tour. The team was a semifinalist at Challengers 1 in the second stage and made a deep run at Masters 1. They were the last team knocked out of their group, defeated by Challengers Playoff attendees Guild Esports and FunPlus Phoenix.

The new Team BDS squad is instantly a contender in the European VALORANT scene with a top-three ranking on VLR.gg. The newly signed roster will represent their new organization at Challengers 2 on April 16 against Ninjas in Pyjamas. The move was first reported by 1pv.fr in late March.
Opportunists break off from DfuseTeam
Before signing on with Team BDS, Opportunists had been playing as part of DfuseTeam. That original partnership came together in November 2020 after the team’s run in First Strike. They made it to the Round of 32 in the major event but they would eventually part ways with the DfuseTeam organization over apparent internal issues.
“Unfortunately, we encountered some important administrative issues and made strategic mistakes,” Bruno “Non’s” Romao, the CEO of DfuseTeam, said in a statement on Twitter.

The announcement came just one day after the team qualified for Masters. Under the Opportunists team name, the roster beat European powerhouse G2 Esports before going on to make a run in Group B.
Prior to joining DfuseTeam, Opportunists were an amateur team of four French players and now-Team Vitality in-game leader, Bayram “bramz” Ben Redjeb. The Tunisian player left for Vitality in September 2020, and Alex “AKUMAAAAA” Lo Bello came onto the team.
The current team mostly consists of former Counter-Strike players, joined by Dylan “hoppY” Aube from Fortnite. Other members, Rodolphe “rodeN” Bianco and Logan “logaN” Corti, played for Team LDLC in Counter-Strike before their switch to VALORANT. AKUMAAAAA and Jonathan “TakaS” Paupard dabbled in the Valve shooter as well, although not on established teams.
