During today’s Ubisoft Forward, the Assassin’s Creed franchise held its first-ever showcase event. This was solely meant to give fans a taste of what’s coming in the near and distant future for the franchise. A majority of the showcase was spent revealing and going over Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the newest game that will be released sometime in 2023. However, after Mirage was revealed, Assassin’s Creed creative director Marc-Alexis Cote stepped in to reveal a plethora of new information.
Perhaps the biggest of these announcements was Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the long-rumored hub for the franchise. Infinity will allow fans to access every AC game from the past and future in one area. Infinity was not described as a video game, but more of a launcher. Older multiplayer modes will be brought into Infinity and fans access free and paid content from older games as well.
Some of the first titles that will be brought to Infinity are Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Codename HEXE. These are two new games that won’t be releasing anytime soon. The current assumption is that Codename Red will release first by the year 2025, with Codename HEXE coming later.
Codename Red is going to be AC’s first foray into Feudal Japan. Fans have been asking for a title set in Japan since the franchise took off after Assassin’s Creed 2. Codename Red will be an open-world RPG title, similar to Valhalla. Coincidentally, the game is also being directed by the director of Valhalla. While it’s still a few years away, Ubisoft is finally giving fans what they’ve longed for. As of right now, all we have for Codename Red is a small cinematic teaser.

The same goes for Codename HEXE, which we actually know even less about. All we officially know about HEXE is that it will be a darker take on an Assassin’s Creed game. However, it has recently been leaked that HEXE will take place during the Witch Trials in Europe during the 1600s. Of course, that information is unconfirmed.

Finally, the last game that was revealed during the AC showcase was Codename Jade. This will be a mobile-only Assassin’s Creed RPG set in Ancient China (215 BCE). We got to see actual in-engine footage of Jade, but this was only an overview of the landscape. However, the landscape does look dense and vibrant for a mobile game.

And that pretty much wraps up the Assassin’s Creed showcase from Ubisoft Forward. In the near future, Ubisoft will close the book on Eivor’s story in Valhalla and eventually deliver Mirage sometime in 2023.
