EXCEL Esports are shaking up their VALORANT roster for VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3 with the signing of Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff and Ruben “RUBINO” Villarroel to their VALORANT roster on June 16. The two new additions will replaced David “Davidp” Prins and Morgan “B1GGY” Madour.
RUBINO was the sixth man on Team Heretics roster, filtering in-and-out of the lineup. Moe40 is known for his time on Fnatic.

EXCEL came into VALORANT with a roster built around former G2 player Davidp. The former Sage main IGL’d for the team and led them to a round of 64 exit in the Stage 2 Challengers 1 qualifiers. The team did not fair much better at Challengers 2, bowing out in the round of 128. In Davidp’s statement about the move, he said that he and the organization agreed to part ways.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t reach our full potential for a few reasons, so — together — EXCEL and I decided that it would be best to part ways moving forward,” Davidp said.
B1GGY is open to offers in VALORANT as he received a permanent ban from Valve-sponsored events in his previous competitive title Counter-Strike.
RUBINHO and Moe40’s history in VALORANT before EXCEL
RUBINO is a Norwegian player who played as Team Heretics’ sixth man. He joined the squad in January of 2021 and played on the team in their run to the Stage 1 Masters finals. After a disappointing Stage 2, where the team failed to qualify for Challengers Playoffs, he announced his move to the bench. His departure from Team Heretics was announced hours before joining EXCEL.

Moe40 has led a less direct path to EXCEL. The former Fnatic player was a part of the Fnatic core roster back in its SUMN FC days. After his release from Fnatic, he bounced around different free agent teams. NoPoaching was his last team before EXCEL.
Both players are competent Sova players but also play other agents. EXCEL’s new IGL is now the French player Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer.
