On the heels of the first-ever ban list change in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Konami’s official Yu-Gi-Oh! online simulator will go down for extended maintenance in the late hours of Tuesday.
Like previous maintenance periods, Master Duel will be down for an estimated three and a half hours from midnight ET until 3:30 a.m. The reason for the maintenance is unknown since a new event isn’t scheduled right after, as has been the case with previous maintenance.

Like previous updates, rooms and match history will be removed as part of an effort to improve server connections. This is the “cache server update” in the message in-game. The maintenance also may conclude either earlier or later than scheduled — and without prior notice based on the logistics of the update and unforeseen circumstances.
Players should not expect any major new updates to available content, as Konami would have most likely offered details in a previous announcement. However, players can reasonably expect new files to be added to the game in preparation for future events and updates.
For example, the two newest selection packs in the in-game store were both datamined from previous updates a month in advance. Konami has a track record of putting in new files for updates they are planning in the long term.
With the new ban list updates going into effect on Monday, May 9, its reasonable to assume that a new update to the game will come out then. This is especially promising based on the fact that one card on the ban list update, Fusion Destiny, is a pre-emptive hit to one of the new cards slated to release in the near future.
That card is Destiny Hero – Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer. The card came out in Burst of Destiny, which is the set that directly follows the booster set just released in Master Duel: Dawn of Majesty. Other new files that may be added to the game could include new event details, solo mode gates and more.
