Cloud9 are making roster changes for the League of Legends Championship Series summer split, sources tell Upcomer. Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami is expected to return to the top lane after playing one split in mid lane, meaning C9 will need a new mid laner as a consequence.

The team is also exploring options in the support position. Cloud9 acquired support Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon alongside top laner Park “Summit” Woo-tae and bot laner Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol during the previous offseason. There is no word on Summit’s or Winsome’s next destination at the moment.

In terms of mid lane replacements, Cloud9 have looked at several options. The team expressed interest in re-signing Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer, but he decided to join MAD Lions in the League of Legends European Championship, as reported by Upcomer.

There is a chance academy mid laner Jouhan “Copy” Pathmanathan gets the call up, but Cloud9 are exploring all options since the team can import a player for the role. One other player they are reportedly interested in is Czech mid laner Adam “Random” Grepl, though they have not taken any actions to acquire him at this time.

For support, C9 are considering several players, but a roleswap from Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen to that position is a possibility.

Finally, the academy team has signed jungler Jay “Sheiden.” He will replace Sebastian “Malice” Edholm, who will leave the team.

Cloud9 started their season by releasing former head coach Nick “LS” De Cesare two weeks into the spring season, though they finished in second place. C9 ended up reaching round 2 of playoffs before being eliminated by Evil Geniuses, the eventual spring champions, with a score of 0-3.
