After two straight weeks of high-level competition, the competitive Super Smash Bros. action continues with this weekend’s Low Tide City 2022. Though it won’t be as stacked as Genesis 8 or Pound 2022, the tournament played at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock will still feature nearly 1,000 players competing in a variety of games.

Players to watch
Genesis champion Leonardo “MkLeo” López Pérez and Pound champion William “Glutonny” Belaid won’t be at Low Tide City 2022. Therefore, Edgar “Sparg0” Valdez will be the favorite to win and claim his third major Smash Ultimate win of 2022.
Of course, the shallower attendee pool could enable others to secure a major win for the first time this year. Potential contenders to watch include Enrique “Maister” Hernández Solís, Samuel “Dabuz” Buzby and Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan.
There will be an even less top-heavy pool of players for Smash Melee Singles. As a result, Juan “Hungrybox” DeBiedma seems like a safe pick to win due to his consistent results this year. However, he will once again have to prove his ability to fend off upsets from the likes of Sasha “Magi” Sullivan, Jeffrey “Axe” Williamson, Joey “Lucky” Aldama and Linus “Pipsqueak” Nordin.
How to watch Low Tide City 2022
The Low Tide City 2022 tournament organizers have not yet announced the stream schedule for the event. Even so, it is slated to be a three-day event, beginning on Friday. If this year’s event features the same Twitch streams as last year, then fans will be able to catch the broadcast on btssmash, btssmash2 and TourneyLocator.

This event will feature Single and Doubles brackets for a number of games, including Ultimate, Melee, Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64, Rivals of Aether and Slap City. In addition, there will be an Ultimate Squad Strike bracket and a Melee low tiers bracket. These will both take place on Friday, along with all of the Doubles brackets. Finally, there will also be a four-versus-four Splatoon 2 bracket.
Meanwhile, Low Tide City 2022 attendees will have the option to attend a nearby Project+ shadow major headed up by Ian “Studebacher Hoch” Hendren. Project+ fans will be able to watch Shipwrecked 2: Shipfaced on the ProjectMNexus Twitch channel.
