After another successful event with the N/R Rarity Festival, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is chugging along with its next event coming soon. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Synchro Festival is slated to kick off in the early hours of Tuesday in most territories and will conclude on Thursday. Here are all the details players need to know to get to dueling in the new event.

What is the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Synchro Festival?

Following in the footsteps of their first event, the XYZ Festival, the game is going back to a specific summoning method in its third event. The Synchro Festival will challenge players to build decks that can access the Synchro Monster pool from the extra deck. These cards are the ones with white borders around them that made their debut doing the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s anime series back in the late 2000’s.

Just like the XYZ Festival, all other extra deck monster types are banned. So players will not be allowed to use Fusion, Link or XYZ monsters. As for the format, this event will be exactly the same as the previous two. Players will be playing exhibition matches against other players from across the world with decks built specifically for the event. Players will be dueling for special medals. The more medals a player earns through the event, the better rewards they unlock. Players will earn medals regardless of winning and losing. However, players will receive significantly more medals during wins.

What are the rewards?

The rewards for this event are similar to previous events. The most lucrative form of rewards will be coming in the form of gems. Gems are the in-game currency used to buy packs and cosmetics in the game. The number of gems that can be earned in this event is great. Just by going through the rewards track, players will be able to earn a total of 2300 gems. This is the same amount of gems that players earned in the N/R Rarity Festival. Just like in the previous event, players will also earn a lot of Legacy Pack tickets too. But this time around, they are not standard Legacy Pack tickets. Instead, they are special Synchro Festival pack tickets that will be filled with powerful Synchro monsters.

But that’s not all, this event also features two new rewards not seen in the past two events. Players will be able to earn a new exclusive Mate Base and a special title for playing in this event.

What are the best decks

Since the Synchro Festival is focused around the Synchro monster mechanic, it’s advised players look for archetypes and strategies that take advantage of this. Here are some notable Synchro-based archetypes that players should experiment with heading into this event.

  • Yang Zing
  • Speedroid
  • Synchron
  • Blackwings
  • Adamancipator

There are also loaner decks that players can use even if they don’t have access to Synchro decks of their own. Also, these loaner decks are competent. There are three choices and two of them feature archetypes listed above including Speedroid and Synchron.
