Since the integration of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, there’s only been room for one AUG. The Cold War version of the rifle/SMG hybrid weapon overtook the battle royale for months. This left its namesake counterpart, the Modern Warfare AUG, in the dust and forgotten about. However, with the Cold War AUG receiving a nerf and off-meta weapons becoming more popular, the MW AUG’s top loadout has become more prevalent.

The MW AUG has never been considered a top-tier weapon in Warzone. This is because there have always been SMGs that are more popular and advantageous from a statistics standpoint. Also, the MW AUG was never considered a top gun in Modern Warfare multiplayer so, since the beginning, many players have overlooked it.

However, Season 3 is the season of off-meta weapons and the AUG features a loadout that can contend with any off-meta loadout.

Best MW AUG loadout in Warzone

The MW AUG’s most noteworthy factors are its ability to hold a fair amount of bullets and its close-range prowess. While it can still be effective at medium-range, it’s best served in close quarters where it can unload its large clip onto unsuspecting enemies.

The recommended loadout reflects this. There are attachments to boost mobility, along with damage range and bullet velocity while increasing the magazine size.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: 622mm Long Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 5.56 NATO 60-Round Drums
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape

As in most Warzone loadouts, the Monolithic Suppressor is the first attachment for the MW AUG. It increases damage range and keeps players off the radar when firing. To help the damage range further, the 622mm Long Barrel is in place. As an added bonus, bullet velocity is also increased.

For mobility, the Stippled Grip Tape is equipped to boost sprint-to-fire time. Then, rounding out the loadout is the Commando Foregrip for extra recoil control and the 5.56 NATO 60-Round Drums. These greatly boosts damage and the magazine size. However, recoil control, ADS and movement speeds are all reduced. It’s a trade-off but one that maximizes the MW AUG’s damage.

Players will certainly be able to drop enemies quickly with this MW AUG loadout.
