The two main factions in Dying Light 2 Stay Human are the Peacekeepers and Survivors. While the Renegades are also thrown in there, they don’t have as big of an impact on the city as the other two factions. Dying Light 2 presents you with multiple opportunities to align with either faction. While your choices regarding the factions might not matter much in the long run, your alignment with the factions does matter in terms of the city itself.

After a couple of hours in the story of Dying Light 2, you will go on a mission involving activating a water tower. This can provide fresh water to either the Survivors or Peacekeepers. A screen will appear after activating the water tower that lets you choose which faction gets it. Each faction has some upgrades that you can acquire depending on how much you align with them.

This guide will go over what side to align with and the rewards that come with that alignment.

Aligning with the Peacekeepers or Survivors in Dying Light 2

The City Alignment menu is fairly straightforward. You get to assign either water or power to one of the factions, making their presence stronger throughout the city. You can also gain some upgrades for the city and yourself depending on which side you choose to align with.

You can access the City Alignment screen by zooming all the way out in the map menu. Here, you can see all of the upgrades you get each time you give the PKs or Survivors water or power. The Peacekeepers will install different traps around the city if you align with them while the Survivors install items to enhance your parkour experience.

Your alignment with the factions doesn’t have a huge impact on the story, so that shouldn’t play a role in which side you make stronger in City Alignment. It really depends on if you want traps or better parkour objects in Villedor. However, there are also hidden rewards, like the Peacekeepers giving you a Crossbow the more upgrades you give them.

To make the best decision, go to the City Alignment screen in Dying Light 2 and browse each level of the available upgrades. This will allow you to see what faction has the best path you want to follow.
