The former analyst of 100 Thieves’ VALORANT roster Jovanni “Jovi” Vera has been promoted to head coach, multiple sources told Upcomer on Tuesday.

Jovi will take over from former Head Coach Hector “FrosT” Rosario, who was released by 100 Thieves in November.

Jovi will lead the 100 Thieves roster going into the next season of the VALORANT Champions Tour. The team will need to sign two players to the active roster to compete in the tournament, which begins at the start of 2022.

Meanwhile, the transfer of youngster Johann “seven” Hernandez to T1 seems imminent, multiple sources told Upcomer. Seven will join former 100 Thieves in-game leader Joshua “steel” Nissan on the starting roster, as first reported by Upcomer.

100 Thieves have made several changes over the course of the offseason. Most notably, Nick “nitr0” Cannella will return to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Team Liquid, as first reported by Upcomer and later confirmed by 1pv.fr and VLR.gg

The organization has practiced with several players since the removal of nitr0. Most notably, former Ninjas in Pyjamas in-game leader Adam “ec1s” Eccles practiced, with 100 Thieves, alongside Evil Geniuses CS:GO player Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, as first reported by Upcomer and VLR.gg

100 Thieves are yet to sign the two players necessary to complete the roster, however.

The team recently bowed out of the North American Last Chance Qualifier, following a third place finish. They were defeated by eventual victors Cloud9 in the lower final. Cloud9 then defeated Rise in the grand finals to secure qualification for Champions, the most anticipated VALORANT event of the year, which concluded with Acend as the victors on Dec. 13.

100 Thieves are set to temporarily field the following roster:

  • Spencer “Hiko” Martin
  • Ethan Arnold
  • Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
  • Jovi (coach)
