Team Viking’s Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi showed love for the Brazilian VALORANT fan base and their support at Champions but admits they can be a little too passionate in a post-match press conference.

Brazilian teams have impressed fans by taking maps off some of the top teams, including Sentinels and Gambit Esports. After a close 2-1 loss against VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Berlin winners Gambit Esports, Team Viking’s Sacy talked about the passionate Brazilian fanbase.

“The Brazil fanbase is really passionate, sometimes a little bit too much, I’ll be honest,” Sacy said with a laugh. “But yeah they make us feel comfortable I think. There is pressure, like we need to make Brazil proud because Brazil is not the greatest scene in VALORANT right now.”

The Brazilian fan base showed what they were capable of after Vivo Keyd was penalized by Riot Games for using an illegal Cypher camera in their match against Acend. Riot Games ruled in favor of Acend and forced Vivo Keyd to forfeit the map and the series. Displeased with the result of Riot Games’ ruling, the Brazilian fan base took charge and got the hashtag #justiceforkeyd trending worldwide in support. Riot Games is still deliberating over the ruling against Vivo Keyd.

Team Vikings’ Sacy thinks Brazil has shown up at Champions

Team Vikings aren’t the only Brazilian team that has had glimpses of success during Champions. FURIA Esports took a map off of the former VCT Masters Reykjavík champions Sentinels while Vivo Keyd originally defeated Acend 2-1 before the Riot ruling. Team Vikings themselves are the only Brazilian team with a legal win after they defeated Crazy Racoon in the opening match of Group C.

“Vivo Keyd got a win against Acend, I mean, not anymore, but they won,” Sacy said. “And FURIA got a nice matchup against Sentinels. Then we almost won against Gambit so we are showing the world that we can face them. I think Brazil just needs a little more time.”

After the loss to Gambit, Team Vikings will play either Team Secret or Crazy Raccoon for a chance to advance out of Group C and make it to the quarterfinals of VALORANT Champions.
