Defending PG Nationals 2021 champions Macko Esports have reached verbal agreements with their roster for 2022, sources close to Upcomer confirmed on Wednesday.
The roster, according to sources, will be:
- Top: Kallon “Kerberos” Ram
- Jungle: Sofiane “Sof” Saibi
- Mid: Alexander “HHNeverLucky” Hegland Fedde
- Bot: Riccardo “Rharesh” Tata
- Support: Vittorio “Click” Massolo
- Head coach: Cristofaro “Cristo” Di Maggio
Italian journalist Francesco “Deugemo” Lombardo from eSportsMag.it confirmed Rharesh and Cristo last month. It is understood that Kerberos, Sof and HHNeverLucky have reached verbal agreements while Rharesh, Click and Cristo are already signed on.
Rharesh, Click and Cristo worked together in the recent Iberian Cup 2021 where Macko finished top eight, losing to MAD Lions Madrid 3-1. Click and Cristo, however, were on Samsung Morning Stars for 2020, won a PG Nationals title together and qualified for the European Masters 2020 summer.
Rharesh is a well-known name in the Italian scene and has played for teams like Outplayed and Racoon Gaming in the past. He initially joined Macko as part of the coaching staff but transitioned back to being a player last summer for Macko Academy, as well as the aforementioned Iberian Cup 2021.
Kerberos, Sof and HHNeverLucky join Macko from the NLC ecosystem. Top laner Kerberos most recently played with Nordavind (now 00 Nation) in the NLC 2021 summer where they finished sixth. Sof joins from Resolve, who recently announced they will be stepping back from the League of Legends scene and giving up their spot in the NLC’s second division. Finally, mid laner HHNeverLucky was with Norwegian organization Bifrost for 2021, where he helped them qualify for the NLC’s first division by defeating X7 Esports 3-0 in the 2022 spring qualifiers.
Macko Esports is a new name in the PG Nationals, where they joined in 2021 after a merger with Racoon. In their first year, Macko won back-to-back Italian titles and qualified for both editions of the EU Masters, where they were drawn into the Group of Death in Group D during the summer edition.
Macko were previously coached by Roman “D2k” Lanskoy, who is to be leading Bifrost in 2022.
