Any Harry Potter fan will recognize the term Quidditch in an instant. It’s the main sport of the Wizarding World and one of the staple activities at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During the recent State of Play gameplay trailer for Hogwarts Legacy, the developers showcased some broom flying that led fans to believe Quidditch could appear in the RPG. Although, there was no actual Quidditch gameplay shown off so fans have been confused as to the sport’s role.

Quidditch takes place on a pitch, where players fly around on brooms and try to score points in hoops on opposite ends of the playing field. There’s a ball players use to score points, one that defenders use to try and stop players from scoring and another called the Golden Snitch. This golden ball is tiny in size and can only be caught by the team’s Seeker. If a player catches the Snitch, the match of Quidditch is over.

Hogwarts Legacy fans are itching to get their chance to play Quidditch but it doesn’t look like the sport will be playable at launch.

Quidditch might not appear in Hogwarts Legacy

While nothing has been totally confirmed by the developers at Avalanche Studios, it looks like Quidditch won’t be a playable mode in Hogwarts Legacy. According to the website’s FAQ, players will only be able to participate in broom flying competitions. Here’s what they had to say in the FAQ:

“Broom flight is a method of travel in Hogwarts Legacy and there are also broom races. Players can take a Flying class to master their broomstick flying skills.”

It seems as though broom flying will play a major role in the game but Quidditch itself will not. Although, the developers haven’t explicitly stated this or even said Quidditch isn’t a possibility in the future. So if it’s not included in Hogwarts Legacy at launch, perhaps future DLC could bring the sport to the RPG.
