God of War Ragnarok is one of the hottest video game releases of 2022. The sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 reboot of the classic PlayStation franchise is set to be a smash hit release right before the holiday season kicks off. Recently, developer Sony Santa Monica gave fans a release date for Ragnarok of Nov. 9, 2022. While the game is sandwiched between some AAA title releases such as Call of Duty, Gotham Knights, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and Skull and Bones, Ragnarok should still see great sales numbers thanks to its name recognition and the success of 2018’s God of War. One aspect that could drag Ragnarok sales numbers down, though, is the fact that it’s a PlayStation-only title. At launch, God of War Ragnarok will not release on PC, only on PS4 and PS5.

However, that hasn’t stopped fans from asking if the game will ever be released on PC. After all, Sony decided to release God of War 2018 on PC along with other exclusives, such as Horizon Zero Dawn. Sony is also planning to release Marvel’s Spider-Man 2018 on PC later this year, which gives PC Master Race fans hope that Ragnarok will make its way to the platform.

God of War Ragnarok on PC?

While it’s true that Sony has recently been more willing to release PS exclusives on PC, fans will have to wait quite a long time for that possibility with Ragnarok. It took Sony three years to release God of War 2018 on PC and even longer for the port of Marvel’s Spider-Man. Sony also hasn’t confirmed whether or not Ragnarok will receive the same treatment as those games.

Though it seems likely they would eventually port the game to PC given their recent trend, things could change in the future. So while the possibility of God of War Ragnarok eventually coming to PC seems relatively high, fans should temper their expectations at this time.
