The Week 2 challenges in Fortnite Season 7 are live a little early and players now have the jump on completing them sooner than expected. Epic Games decided to release the Epic quests on June 15 and the Legendary quests on June16, all before the anticipated start date of Thursday, June 17. However, when players looked at the Legendary quests on June 16, one challenge caught their eye above all others: interacting with a Dead Drop.

Usually, players know what every task means when they look over any week’s batch of challenges. However, a Dead Drop is a new item that makes this Legendary quest a little more difficult.

Interacting with a Dead Drop in Fortnite Season 7

Amidst the brand new alien items spread out across the Fortnite island, a Dead Drop seems a bit out of place. The exact description for the item is a method of espionage that allows people to transfer information using a secret location. However, these two people don’t meet, which is why it’s called a “Dead” Drop.

In Fortnite, the Dead Drops are located on top of tree trunks in Weeping Woods. They have a wheel attached to a metal box with a small antenna on it. This is what players need to look out for when they’re searching for the item. Luckily, players only need to find one Dead Drop and there are multiple to be found.

Below, players can see exactly where they can find each Dead Drop in Fortnite.

Players must navigate to one of the red circles and look for the device on top of a tree trunk. Once they find that, they must hold the interact button and the challenge will be complete. Players will be rewarded with XP toward their Season 7 Battle Pass in Fortnite.
