The cat’s out of the bag with nearly everything concerning Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific and the new map Caldera. Activision released a detailed blog post about everything fans can expect with the new iteration of Warzone. It even went into what fans can expect with Season 1 of Vanguard, though leakers are debating exactly what Activision meant by that. Additionally, the blog post went over new game modes coming to Warzone Pacific, including Vanguard Royale.

The name of the mode sounds intriguing, as Vanguard weapons and equipment are already being integrated into the base version of Warzone Pacific. As stated in the blog post, though, Vanguard Royale is unlike anything players have experienced in Warzone before. Below, players can see all of the details about the newest battle royale mode.

Vanguard Royale in Warzone Pacific

There are two key differences between the standard battle royale mode and Vanguard Royale. In the new game mode, players will only have access to Vanguard weaponry, both in terms of loadouts and as floor loot. Activision hopes this will allow players to experiment with different Vanguard weapons in order to shake up the meta in the regular BR playlists.

Vanguard Royale will also emphasize dogfighting with the new airborne vehicles. However, players on the ground have access to AA guns and trucks in order to eliminate the fighter planes from the skies.

The last key change in Vanguard Royale is that the Circle Collapse times have been altered. This is to allow for a faster pace of play to accommodate for the fighter planes dogfighting in the skies. Also, in-game events will be featured in every match near the end of each Circle Collapse.

If players want to try dogfighting or solely use Vanguard content, then Vanguard Royale is the perfect mode. Vanguard Royale releases on Dec. 9 with the rest of the Season 1 content in both Warzone Pacific and Vanguard. However, if players own a copy of Vanguard, they can play the mode and Caldera one day early on Dec. 8.
