The Worlds dream of Team Vitality is in arms reach after taking down Misfits in the EU LCS third-place match.

The fiery Team Vitality is coming from a loss to FC Schalke 04, where the German-based team would outclass Vitality quite easily. However, they are still aiming high for a Worlds appearance. They are still one of the more exciting teams in the EU LCS. Their coach, Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi, gives them a lot of freedom with their drafts. They play with a lot of emotion, and with their newest member Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek, they are looking better and better.
On the other hand, Misfits are also looking for a strong end to their summer split. They would begin the season on fire, going perfect in the first four weeks. Unfortunately, they would end up cooling down significantly from there, as Misfits would only win three more games throughout the rest of the split. However, they are still a strong EU LCS team, with one of the best ADC players in the region. Steven “Hans Sama” Liv has been the deciding factor for many of Misfits’ games this split. This postseason would be no different, as Hans Sama would lead the team with a dominant first game performance.

Game one of the series was all Misfits, and more specifically Hans Sama. Early on, the French ADC would get a quick 2v2 kill onto their bottom lane opponents. Misfits would find picks and push objectives all over the map, gaining a pretty significant lead. Also, the combo of Xayah and Rakan would prove to be very effective against the hard engage composition of Vitality. Hans Sama would find himself with nine kills by the end of the game, and it would be an impressive 30-minute win for Misfits.
Vitality stomps Game Two and Three

However, Team Vitality would storm back in game two with an even more dominating performance. Misfits would actually opt-in for a surprise Evelynn jungle pick, but it would not pan out. They were too reliant on picks early on in fights. If they could not burst down a target fast enough, due to Vitality having so much survivability on their side. The combination of Zilean and Kindred would mean that no one would die on Team Vitality. With some aggressive play from mid laner Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro, Vitality would have the quickest win of the year in the EU LCS at 22 minutes.

Game Three would be more of the same, with Jiizuke and Vitality ADC Amadeu “Attila” Carvalho taking the reins on LeBlanc and Kai’sa. They would play incredibly forward for the whole game, putting Misfits on the back foot from early on. Misfits would not be able to find any meaningful picks on the two carries, which would give Jiizuke and Attila the freedom to attack the backline with their ability to dive behind enemy lines. This would end up being another quick 27 minutes match.

Game four would be one of the closest matches between the two teams. After a botched fight in the mid lane from Misfits, Jiizuke would end up with two kills at five minutes. However, each team would go back and forth on the team fights, until around the 25-minute mark. A huge team fight win for Vitality would help them secure Baron, and a huge gold lead thereafter. Jiizuke would then become a huge damage threat, having items and level advantage. Attila was also huge as well, being able to dish out a ton of damage on Ezreal. As a result, Vitality would take the game in 34 minutes, winning third place.
What’s Next
Team Vitality is now going to watch the Fnatic – Schalke 04 matchup very closely. This is because if Fnatic manages to win the EU LCS Championship, this also means Vitality will secure their spots at the 2018 Worlds Championship. Also, Misfits will be heading to the EU LCS Regional Gauntlet, where they will be facing Splyce. If they wish to get to Worlds, they have to get through a plethora of talented teams including G2 Esports and either Team Vitality or Schalke 04, depending who wins the EU LCS crown.
