Slots available for VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo
To start, here are all the slots available in each region to qualify for Masters Tokyo.
There are three slots each for the three major regions; with three for the Americas, three for EMEA and three for the Pacific region. One of the newest additions are the Chinese teams, making their 2023 debut at the LOCK//IN tournament. Just like the tournament currently going on, two Chinese teams will return for international competition in Tokyo.
Lastly, the victors of the LOCK//IN tournament will earn their region another spot at Masters Tokyo. This could be any of the four regions, but with one Chinese team already eliminated, most like an extra team from one of the three major regions will go to Tokyo.
Start and end times
As explained in the tweet above, Masters Tokyo is set to start on June 12, 2023, going until June 25. This marks the second international LAN of the VCT 2023 season, with the LOCK//IN Brazil tournament as the first. With not nearly as many teams playing as the LOCK//IN tournament, the event is significantly shorter.
After the success of live VALORANT events in Japan, Masters in Tokyo was always in the cards, and now it’s less than five months away. Teams will have to compete well regionally to make their mark and qualify for Masters to even get to Japan.
The tournament will be a twelve-team double-elimination bracket, with the victors winning the first Masters tournament of 2023. Not only that, but the victors will get a significant portion of the unannounced prize pool and points toward qualifying for Champions in 2023.
