With such a large influx of new Call of Duty: Vanguard PC players, a guide on how to improve FPS (frames per second) is in order. To do that, players will need to tinker with their graphics settings in Vanguard. However, the setting values in Call of Duty’s latest entry can be finicky, so players will need to learn the correct settings.

Below are some tips on how to get the best out of Vanguard on PC.

Best graphics settings in Vanguard

The first list is the “Display” section of the Graphics tab in Vanguard. This is the least important of the three sections but it’s still vital that players understand what settings they’re changing.

  • Display Mode: Fullscreen
  • Display Resolution: 1920×1080 (or whatever the player’s monitor goes up to)
  • Monitor: The player’s preferred monitor
  • Refresh Rate: The highest refresh rate available on the player’s monitor
  • V-Sync (Gameplay): Off
  • V-Sync (Menu): Off
  • Frame Rate Limit: The maximum refresh rate of the player’s monitor
  • Aspect Ratio: Automatic
  • Display (Gamma): 2.2
  • HDR: Automatic
  • Focused Mode: Off
  • Display Adapter: The player’s graphics card
  • On-Demand Texture Streaming: Off

The next section is “Quality” and these settings will mostly determine a player’s FPS. It should be noted that these settings are considered competitive and are solely meant for Vanguard multiplayer.

  • Dynamic Resolution: Off
  • Texture Resolution: Low or Very Low (depending on the player’s FPS)
  • Texture Filter Anisotropic: High
  • Particle Quality Level: Medium
  • Particle Resolution: High
  • Bullet Impacts and Sprays: Off
  • Shader Quality: Low
  • Tesselation: Off
  • Level of Detail Distance Range: Long
  • Nearby Level of Detail: High
  • Distant Level of Detail: High
  • Clutter Draw Distance: Low
  • Volumetric Quality Level: Low
  • Screen Space Shadows: Off
  • Shadow Map Resolution: Very Low
  • Shadows Cascades: Low
  • Cache Sun Shadows: On
  • Cache Spot Shadows: On
  • Spot Cache Size: Very Low
  • Spot Shadow Quality: Low
  • Particle Lighting: Low
  • Ambient Occlusion: Off
  • Screen Space Reflection: Off
  • Nvidia DLSS: Off
  • FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0: Off
  • FidelityFX CAS: On (.80)
  • Anti-Aliasing: Filmic SMAA T2X
  • Depth of Field: Off

The most important options from that list are the Level of Detail settings, as players want them high at both short and long distances to see enemies better. Also, using FidelityFX CAS makes Vanguard look much crisper and allows for better visibility overall.

The final section is “Gameplay” and this mostly comes down to preference.

  • Field of View: 100
  • Camera Movement: Least
  • World Motion Blur: Off
  • Weapon Motion Blur: Off
  • Nvidia Reflex Low Latency: On + Boost

That’s the complete list of recommended graphics settings in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
