Magic: The Gathering‘s newest set, War of the Spark, is particularly hot news right now with spoiler season kicking off on March 31. However, it’s not a real spoiler season unless a couple of cards get leaked so, without further ado, here’s what we know!

Ajani’s Pridemate and Auger of Bolas

This morning, a leak circulated online of a picture depicting an all-new art version of Ajani’s Pridemate with a never-before-seen set symbol and flavor text. It’s not hard to put together that this is a leaked card from the soon to be set War of the Spark. In addition to Ajani’s Pridemate, there was also an image depicting what seems to be a pre-release order for a local game store with a Friday Night Magic promo version of Augur of Bolas. This would mean that Augur of Bolas is also in War of the Spark.

What can we expect?

If we look at Ajani’s Pridemate’s flavor text, we can kind of understand where these two spoiler cards lead us as far as what we may see in the future. The flavor text says that the Planeswalkers in War of the Spark are conjuring replicas of old allies from their homeworlds, meaning we may be seeing more Planeswalker-oriented creatures like the above two. For example, we may see cards like Chandra’s Phoenix, Kiora’s Follower, Gideon’s Lawkeeper, or Jace’s Phantasm.

Whatever the case, War of the Spark is shaping up to be a massively popular set for Magic: The Gathering fans. Remember, the Mythic Invitational is live right now on Twitch over the next few days and on Sunday we will see even more spoilers! This is a very exciting time to be a Magic player, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all. Be sure to keep up on Twitter with #MTGWAR!

[Update (March 31)]: A full slate of War of the Spark spoilers have now been revealed! Check out all 17 new cards, including FOUR new Planeswalkers!
