Wizards of the Coast has announced a D&D Celebration. This will be the biggest virtual D&D event ever, even bigger than D&D Live! It’s a three day event bringing you content from one of the world’s biggest role playing games. There will be panels, gameplay, and previews of new content from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. Find out about rule updates, customize your game, and join hundreds of other players. It all kicks off Saturday, September 19 to Monday, September 21.

D&D Celebration with Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything

There’s expected be more than a thousand concurrent players taking part in D&D Celebration. That’s a whole lot of tabletop gamers. Players will be coming together to celebrate the launch of Icewind Dale: RIme of the Frostmaiden. Anyone can sign up to participate in the biggest ever D&D virtual event. Simply head on over to the D&D Adventurers League. Purchase a ticket for the event and all proceeds go to support Extra Life. Extra Life is a charity benefiting Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in the US. Not only do you get to play games, you also get to help people. Plus D&D Celebration is your first opportunity to learn more about Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything.

Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything brings new classes, more feats, spells, items, and puzzles to the game. There’s a massive rule update too. This will be the biggest rule update to D&D since Xanathar’s Guide to Everything was released back in November 2017. Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything is special because it incorporates more than 12 months’ worth of feedback from thousands of players across the community. You won’t want to this D&D Celebration and find out everything there is to know about the new update.

Virtual Celebration

With all the virtual events happening it’s hard to work out what to “attend.” D&D Studio has put together a great lineup, and we wanted to know what’s attracting everyone to events like these. We asked Ray Winninger, the Executive Producer for the D&D Studio, what makes a great online event like D&D Celebration and what is bringing in the participants. Winninger told us it’s about opening up the imagination:

Playing Dungeons & Dragons is an activity that primarily takes place in the imaginations of players and DMs. With D&D Celebration, Wizards is offering a way for D&D fans all over the world to come together to celebrate the hobby and the release of the new adventure.

D&D Celebration is set to bring you a fantastic line up of speakers and activities. Winninger told Daily Esports this virtual event gives fans the opportunity to connect with their idols and fellow players:

Fans will be joining in D&D play Fri-Sun featuring expert DMs weaving stories for players in multiple languages, including the largest single virtual game of D&D ever attempted with the D&D Epic on Saturday, September 19. You can meet new friends on the official D&D Discord channel. Or in chat watching the live streaming games and panels, and even explore Icewind Dale in an interactive map with tons of lore, and secrets buried in hidden puzzles revealed throughout the event. D&D Celebration is far from any passive events you’ve seen over the last few months. All these interactions can happen no matter where in the world the fans are physically sitting!

Special guests and tickets

Some of these special guests have already been announced. From Australia, you have Dragon Friends, I Speak Giant, and Dicestormers. New Zealand is coming to the party with Viva La Dirt League. More international participants will be announced soon. If you’re keen to participate in the biggest D&D game ever attempted, grab a ticket today. And don’t forget to lock this one into your calendar.
