Out of all of the weapons that have broken Call of Duty: Warzone with their overpowered nature, the DMR from Black Ops Cold War might be the most dominant. Once Cold War was integrated with Warzone in late 2020, the DMR tactical rifle immediately took over as the undisputed best gun in the game. Naturally, the developers spent months trying to fine-tune the weapon, but it was eventually toned down so much that it wasn’t worth using. Although, it seems Warzone streamers have found a replacement for the DMR in Season 5. The M1 Garand from Vanguard, which was buffed in Season 5, appears to be a natural successor to the DMR with a strong Warzone loadout.
Recently, YouTube streamer TimTheTatMan played with the M1 Garand on stream and then later uploaded a video about the weapon. Tim is calling the M1 Garand the “DMR 2.0,” but does acknowledge that it’s not quite as strong as the original DMR was. Instead, the streamer feels the current M1 Garand resembles the post-nerf DMR, which basically means it’s strong, but not overpowered.
In his video, Tim gave viewers his loadout for the M1 Garand in Warzone, which is viewable below.
TimTheTatman’s M1 Garand loadout in Warzone
Tim’s loadout for the M1 Garand makes use of select attachments that boost the M1 Garand’s damage range and accuracy.
- Muzzle: MX Silencer
- Barrel: Cooper 25″ Custom
- Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
- Stock: Chariot S3 TC
- Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
- Magazine: .30-06 30 Round Mags
- Ammunition: Lengthened
- Perk: Hardscope
- Perk 2: On-Hand
The main stat that this loadout boosts is accuracy; players will need to reduce the M1 Garand’s recoil control, since they’ll be firing in a semi-automatic fashion. However, the Cooper 25″ Custom barrel will also increase that damage range. As with any rifle, players should equip a strong secondary SMG on this loadout to ensure that close-range battles can be won.
