The gaming community came together to pay its respects to prolific actor Chadwick Boseman. He passed away beside his wife and family after a 4-year battle against colon cancer, a struggle he kept private while working between movie sets. Many people know Boseman for his famous role in Marvel’s Black Panther but has also fulfilled many roles in other titles such as 42, 21 Bridges, and Get On Up.

Remembered by friends, family, and fans

Many children, families, celebrities, and colleagues looked up to the 43-year-old actor. He showcased his talents and skills on screen, especially after his renowned role as Black American icons Jackie Robinson in 42, and James Brown, in Get On Up. Critics also praised Boseman for his portrayal of Marvel Cinematic Universe character Black Panther. Aside from creating his cinematic legacy, he created long-lasting memories with his fans.

Amongst the devastating news and grief, several esports figures shared their reaction on social media. Overall, many of them recalled their experience watching Black Panther and what his character meant to them.

Although Chadwick Boseman was not very involved in the gaming community, his affected fans will still fondly remember him. Additionally, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige shared a few words about his relationship with Boseman:

Chadwick’s passing is absolutely devastating. He was our T’Challa, our Black Panther, and our dear friend. Each time he stepped on set, he radiated charisma and joy, and each time he appeared on screen, he created something truly indelible. He embodied a lot of amazing people in his work, and nobody was better at bringing great men to life. He was as smart and kind and powerful and strong as any person he portrayed. Now he takes his place alongside them as an icon for the ages. The Marvel Studios family deeply mourns his loss, and we are grieving tonight with his family.

Daily Esports expresses our deepest condolences to Boseman’s friends and family.
