In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the VEL 46 is a strong and capable SMG that can take down opponents anywhere on the map. While there are some other contenders for the top spot in the SMG class, the VEL 46 makes a strong case thanks to its fast fire rate, low recoil, and moderate damage range. However, all of those stats can be easily boosted if players use the recommended loadout for the VEL 46 in MW2.

Best loadout for the VEL 46 in MW2

The best use-case for the VEL 46 in multiplayer is to keep it at close range. Though it has some decent long-range stats, you are better off sticking to close quarters with the SMG and decimating opponents that way. The VEL 46’s best loadout reflects this, increasing mobility above all else but also boosting range and recoil control as well.

  • Muzzle: Spiral V3.5 Flash Hider
  • Barrel: Tango 228 Barrel
  • Stock: Demo RXT Stock
  • Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Soldier Grip

This loadout will primarily increase your recoil control and mobility with the VEL 46. The Tango 228 Barrel will also give you some extra damage range with the SMG, allowing you to kill enemies quicker, especially at longer ranges. The barrel will also slightly improve your hipfire accuracy as well, though, which does help in close range when an enemy is right near you.

The Demo RXT Stock and Schlager Soldier Grip help with mobility while the Spiral V3.5 Flash Hider and Edge-47 Grip provide added recoil control. You can tune these attachments to make them lean more toward mobility or accuracy, though.

As a final note, you can use the VEL 46 in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
