The TAQ-V is a battle rifle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that is arguably one of the more versatile weapons you can use in multiplayer. While it’s designed to be used at longer distances, you can throw on a specific set of attachments to turn the TAQ-V into a very similar version to the TAQ-56. Of course, the TAQ-56 will be a stronger weapon all-around, but the TAQ-V has a solid loadout that is usable at both close and long range in MW2.

Players can think of the TAQ-V as the TAQ-56’s older brother. It’s bigger, does more damage, and has fewer bullets in each magazine. The TAQ-56 will always be favored over the TAQ-V, but the latter is a terrific choice if you’re looking to change things up in multiplayer.

To see the full loadout for the TAQ-V in MW2, keep reading below.

Best TAQ-V loadout in Modern Warfare 2

If you decide to use the TAQ-V as a fully-auto weapon, you can treat it like an assault rifle. You will notice a slight mobility drop compared to regular ARs, but the damage you can deal is quite surprising. It also helps you can pick enemies off at 50 meters or more without the TAQ-V moving much when you’re shooting. My recommended loadout allows you to use the TAQ-V in any way you need.

  • Barrel: 18” Precision-6 Barrel
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro/ Slimline Pro/ SZ Mini
  • Underbarrel: XTEN Drop Grip
  • Magazine: 30 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip

The loadout begins with the 18″ Precision Barrel, which increases recoil control and damage range at the cost of mobility. That’s followed up with the XTEN Drop Grip and the Demo Cleanshot Grip to regain that lost mobility. Finally, there’s the 30 Round Mag to make the TAQ-V more like an assault rifle and a basic red dot for an optic. We’ve offered multiple options depending on what players have unlocked in multiplayer.

As a final note, you can use the TAQ-V in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
