Ever since Major I in the Call of Duty League, the TAQ-56 has been the dominant assault rifle choice for competitive play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. After the M4 was banned by pros, the TAQ-56 was the next weapon up. As most players know, the TAQ-56 is lethal at long range thanks to its low recoil, high damage, and balanced fire rate. However, Ranked Play is a whole other beast in MW2, and players will need a very specific loadout for the TAQ-56 if they want to rank up their Skill Division.
The TAQ-56’s main attachments have changed quite frequently over the course of the last two months. Pros have tested out a variety of attachments, particularly in the muzzle and underbarrel departments. As of right now, pros have come to a general consensus as to what’s best. However, players do have some choices depending on their overall preference and playstyle.
To see the best TAQ-56 loadout for MW2 Ranked Play, keep reading below.
Ranked Play loadout for the TAQ-56 in MW2
- Muzzle: Sakin-Tread 40 (only for longer-range players)
- Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
- Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
- Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
- Stock: TV XLINE Pro Stock
- Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip (only for more aggressive players)
As players can see, you have a choice between equipping a muzzle or a rear grip. If you’re more of a mobile player, you want to equip the Demo Cleanshot Grip over a muzzle. However, if you like staying back and picking people off from a distance, then the Sakin-Tread 40 muzzle should be slotted in over the rear grip.
The rest of the loadout is standard. The 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel is terrific for increasing damage range and recoil control while the Phase-3 Grip improves accuracy and stability. Finally, the 5.56 High Velocity ammo boosts bullet velocity to make the AR kill a little faster and the TV XLINE Pro Stock improves overall mobility.
