Marksman rifles have been one of the stronger weapon classes throughout Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. They have dominated from the start, with players loving their quickscoping ability and speed on the map. One of the more popular marksman rifles over the course of MW2 has been the SP-R 208, which has a deadly loadout.

The SP-R 208 is a returning weapon from Modern Warfare 2019. It didn’t change much in MW2, but it might be a little more lethal in this game, which has led to its popularity with the sniping community. There aren’t many downsides to using the SP-R, but if I had to nitpick, fire rate and damage range could be improved. Luckily, there’s a specific loadout for the SP-R 208 that does just that.

Best SP-R 208 loadout in MW2

The SP-R 208 has the ability to one-shot kill enemies, but it will require a near headshot. However, as you start to target enemies from farther away, one-shot kills begin to become an issue for the SP-R 208. The recommended loadout for the marksman rifle aims to fix those issues and give it some extra firepower.

  • Barrel: 23.5″ Fluted R-67
  • Laser: 1mW Laser Box
  • Stock: ZRL T70 Pad Extension
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
  • Magazine: 10 Round Mag

The loadout starts out with the 23.5″ Fluted R-67 barrel, which offers the SP-R 208 some much-needed damage range as well as bullet velocity and movement speed.

Next, I have the FSS ST87 Bolt, which gives the marksman rifle added rechambering speed, which essentially means you can fire each shot faster. The rest of the loadout, with the exception of the 10 Round Mag, focuses on mobility so you can be even speedier when using the SP-R, which will lead to even more quickscoping chances.

As a final note, you can use the SP-R 208 in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
