Sniping has become one of the most popular ways to play Search and Destroy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play. Whether it’s because fans see someone like Brandon “Dashy” Otell sniping people in the Call of Duty League or they just happen to be proficient at sniping, you’ll see a sniper or two in almost every Ranked game of S&D. If you fall into this crowd or want to simply get better at sniping, you’ll need the right weapon. While a majority of players have been using the SP-X 80 or MPCR 300, the Signal 50 has a decent enough loadout in Ranked to also warrant consideration.

The Signal 50 is the one launch sniper in MW2 that has yet to be used frequently in the Call of Duty League. However, this doesn’t mean that fans of the semi-automatic sniper shouldn’t use it in Ranked. If players can hit their shots with the sniper, they can do some real damage to an enemy team round after round. Of course, to make hitting those shots easier with the Signal 50, players will need its absolute best set of attachments for Ranked.

Best Signal 50 loadout for MW2 Ranked Play

  • Barrel: FSS Jetstream
  • Optic: SP-X 80 Optic
  • Stock: SO Inline Stock
  • Rear Grip: SA Finesse Grip
  • Ammunition: .50 Cal High Velocity

This loadout mainly prioritizes speed over anything else. There is the SO Inline Stock and SA Finesse Grip to give players the maximum amount of aim down sights time and sprint-to-fire speed possible with the Signal 50. However, those stats are slightly reduced by using the FSS Jetstream barrel, but we feel it’s necessary thanks to the damage range and bullet velocity buffs it offers. Also buffing bullet velocity is the .50 Cal High Velocity ammo, allowing players to always hit their target first.
