Quickscoping has been one of the most popular ways to play Call of Duty since it was originally introduced way back in the early 2000s. While that play style has slightly diminished since the glory days of COD, Modern Warfare 2 has brought back quickscoping in a major way. As such, you might be curious as to what’s the best overall quickscoping loadout in Modern Warfare 2.

While some players might argue that a marksman rifle, such as the SA-B 50, is a better quickscoping option than a traditional sniper, those weapons are more inconsistent in terms of damage. Of course, if players can hit headshots every time they shoot, then a marksman rifle might be the way to go for quickscoping. However, players that don’t want as many hitmarkers from hitting below the head will benefit from a regular sniper.

The overall best sniper to use for quickscoping in MW2 is the SP-X 80. While the LA-B 330 has a slightly faster mobility profile, the SP-X 80 has much stronger damage and range. This will allow players to get one-shot kills much more consistently while still having great mobility.

  • Barrel: 22.5″ Elevate-11
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Stock: PVZ-890 Tac Stock
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt

One of the other benefits to using the SP-X 80 is you don’t have to change its scope. The SP-X 80 comes with a terrific scope by default, freeing up an attachment slot. The attachments included on the loadout all increase mobility in one way or the other. Players will see drastic improvements to their aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire time using this SP-X 80 loadout, making it perfect for quickscoping in Modern Warfare 2.

As a final note, you can use this loadout along with any other sniper/weapon in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
