For most of Vanguard’s life cycle in Call of Duty: Warzone, the MP40 reigned supreme over every other submachine gun. It possessed the best overall stats of any gun in the class, featuring top-notch mobility, damage range, and accuracy. However, Activision began to add in more and more SMGs and Raven Software started to buff other SMGs as well. Weapons like the H4 Blixen, Marco-5, and the Type 100 have all caught up to the MP40, with some even surpassing it. The Season 4 Reloaded update also didn’t do any favors for the SMG, as guns like the Uzi were buffed to make them more competitive. While the MP40 is falling from its place in the meta, some players will still stand by its best loadout in Warzone.
Even with other SMGs rising up in Warzone, the MP40 is by no means a bad choice for a secondary or even primary weapon on the right map. Its stats haven’t truly been touched in months, meaning the gun still possesses the same qualities it did during earlier seasons. There are multiple stats that this loadout increases; fire rate (from the Recoil Booster) being arguably the most important stat boost. This makes the MP40 more competitive with other SMGs like the H4 Blixen and Marco-5. Recoil control, mobility, flinch resistance, and damage range all see boosts as well. The MP40 might not be as dominant as it once was, but it’s certainly worth a loadout spot in Season 4 Reloaded.
