The Streamer Awards, organized by streamer QTCinderella and hosted on her channel, took place on March 12, 2022 at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The inaugural show drew impressive viewership, with 276,000 average and 381,000 peak viewers across the length of the event, according to Streams Charts. Packed full with memorable moments, the livestreamed show was a treasure trove for “content.”

To get a sense of what the Streamer Awards had to offer, here are a few of the best moments from the night.

Red carpet interviews

Outside of QTCinderella, Elias “NymN” Mlayeh may just have been the MVP of the Streamer Awards. Throughout the event, NymN covered the red carpet alongside Slime and JHB. The glitz and glamor, a few seriously unhinged interviews as well as some of the unique fashion choices, made the red carpet a truly unforgettable experience.

Sweet Anita presents best content house

Sweet Anita is a well-known streamer on Twitch who deals with Tourette’s syndrome. Public speaking, a good sense of humor and some questionable tics made for a profanity-laden and strangely compelling award presentation.

“I hate you,” Sweet Anita said to the crowd. “That’s not a tic.”

In the end, Anita announced the award had gone to OfflineTV while holding up the card, which revealed that the award had in fact gone to OTK.

Say what you want of Anita’s award presentation, but it was the most memorable of the night.

Pokimane accepts legacy award

Imane “Pokimane” Anys has come to define Twitch.tv. As one of the streamers who’s been at the top of the game for years, it’ll come as no surprise that the Queen of Twitch herself was the recipient of the Legacy Award. The montage edited together for Pokimane’s nomination was enough to make her shed a couple of tears before being announced the winner.

Pokimane gave a heartfelt acceptance speech thanking everyone who helped make the event happen and all those who at home who make streamers who they are. She also gave a nod to the other legacy streamers.

“I think you can tell by the tears, I really didn’t expect to win this award,” she said. “There are so many amazing creators who came before me and they are the only reason I was able to do what I did.”

Ludwig takes home the top streamer award

The common sentiment leading up to the Streamer Awards was that Félix “xQc” Lengyel would take home the Streamer of the Year Award. Leading Twitch in popularity for the past few months, it’s undeniable the impact xQc has on the platform. Many believed his massive amount of followers would be enough to secure the award, which is 70% based on the popular vote.

With all that said, it came as big surprise when Ludwig Anders Ahgren won the award for the year’s best streamer.

As usual, the wisecracking YouTube star made some jokes and even made some sincere comments about his success.

“It feels good to get this,” Ludwig said. “I had one good month, and I think that’s why I’m standing here. I just hope I can have a year that was as good as that month.”

To top it all off, the camera zoomed in on Ludwig’s bright red crocs as he left the stage.
