Ranked Play in Modern Warfare 2 has seen a plethora of different sniper rifles get used, depending on player preference. The two that have been used the most, though, are the SP-X 80 and the MCPR 300, both for different reasons. The SP-X 80 is a much more mobile weapon that can hitmaker enemies more, and the MCPR 300 is a long-range monster of a sniper that plays right into a tactical player’s wheelhouse. If you feel you’re more of a tactical player, then you will want to check out the best Ranked Play loadout for the MCPR 300.

Since the MCPR 300 is a heavier sniper rifle, the strongest competitive loadout for it aims to increase overall mobility. While this won’t make the MCPR viable as a quickscoping option, it will allow players to snap onto targets quicker. This helps with taking down players who are using a rifle or even another sniper rifle.

Best MCPR 300 loadout for Ranked Play

  • Ammunition: .300 High Velocity
  • Magazine: 5 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Cronen Cheetah
  • Stock: FSS Merc

I start out this loadout with the Cronen Cheetah rear grip and the FSS Merc Stock. Both of these attachments dramatically improve your overall aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire time, making the MCPR 300 much snappier. The .300 High Velocity ammunition gives the MCPR a boost to bullet velocity so you can ensure your bullet reaches its target as quickly as possible.

Finally, the 5 Round Mag is in place to further increase mobility, although you will have to be mindful of reloading with such a small magazine. I didn’t go with a fifth attachment since the barrels on the MCPR 300 all lower mobility and I feel the base scope for the sniper is decent enough to use. However, you can use whatever optic you feel comfortable with if you don’t prefer the base scope.
