Ranked Play has been out for a week in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and fans have been loving the added level of competitiveness in multiplayer. The mode has been a huge success so far, with both competitive and casual fans enjoying playing what the pros in the Call of Duty League do. However, not everything in Ranked Play matches the CDL exactly. This is evident by the fact that the new Season 2 assault rifle, the ISO Hemlock, is usable and can be made into a loadout in Ranked Play.
It’s very rare for professional players to use a post-launch weapon in CDL matches. Pros have still stuck with the TAQ-56 and Vaznev-9K even with the ISO Hemlock being allowed in Ranked. Of course, those rules do not apply to the general player base, as they are free to use whatever gun they want as long as it’s not banned. The ISO Hemlock is not banned at the time of writing, and the AR is a dominant force on any competitive map with the right attachments.

Best ISO Hemlock loadout for Ranked Play in MW2
- Muzzle: RF Crown 50
- Optic: Slimline Pro/Cronen Mini Pro
- Stock: RES-2
- Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
- Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
This loadout allows the ISO Hemlock to excel at both close and long-range. There’s the RF Crown 50 muzzle to eliminate any recoil that you might have when firing the rifle. Then, since the Hemlock’s iron sights are less than desirable, players can use either the Slimline Pro or Cronen Mini Pro optic. Moving on, we have equipped the 5.56 High Velocity ammo to increase the rifle’s bullet velocity.
The rest of the loadout is focused on mobility, with the XTEN Grip and RES-2 stock boosting various mobility stats.
