The HG40 was one of the original weapons in COD Mobile and was once considered the best submachine gun in the entirety of multiplayer. While its time at the top has come to an end, thanks to the arrival of other SMGs like the QQ9 and MX9, it’s still relevant in the current season of the game. The HG40 has remained a solid weapon due to the developers not really nerfing or buffing it throughout the various seasons. As such, the HG40 possesses a solid loadout in COD Mobile even in 2023.

For veterans of the Call of Duty series, the HG40, or MP40, is the definition of a balanced weapon. It doesn’t feature any dominant stat but it also doesn’t own any shockingly low stats. It’s an all-around solid weapon that doesn’t get a ton of use any more due to the number of SMGs the developers have added in previous seasons. Of course, if you want to return to your roots and start using the HG40 again, you will want to do so with its best set of attachments.

To see my recommended loadout for the HG40 in COD Mobile, check out the guide below.

The best HG40 loadout in COD Mobile

  • Barrel: MIP Light Barrel (Short)
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Laser: OWC Laser – Tactical
  • Ammunition: 40 Round Fast Reload
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape

Like the HG40 itself, this loadout is balanced through and through but does lean more towards an aggressive play style.

The attachments in use don’t carry too many negatives and this starts with the MIP Light Barrel (Short) barrel. It provides a solid mobility boost while not decreasing many other stats. The No Stock, Stippled Grip Tape, and OWC Laser – Tactical also add a significant boost to mobility. All three attachments increase aim down sight speed and sprint-to-fire time for the most part.

Rounding out the loadout is the 40 Round Fast Reload magazine. This gives you some extra bullets, as well as a faster reload for those close-range gunfights with multiple enemies. This HG40 loadout won’t shock any opponents in COD Mobile but it will give players a reliable weapon option.
