The shotgun class in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is quite varied, as it features different weapons that are easily distinguishable from each other. While the class started out MW2 as one of the least-underpowered, it quickly transformed into a dominant class. Season 6 exemplifies this perfectly, as there are three shotguns completely running multiplayer lobbies. The Expedite 12 is one of them, and it has devastatingly strong loadout in MW2.

This shotgun has one of the best damage range profiles in its class, and has a decent fire rate to boot. Players might not feel that sentiment as they’re using the Expedite 12 in its early levels; it’s fairly weak in this stage without any of its key attachments. As you begin to level up the weapon, though, you will start to see just how powerful it can be in multiplayer. Eventually, you can equip its best set of attachments to feel the true power of this MW2 shotgun.

Best Expedite 12 loadout in Modern Warfare 2

You will want to focus on two different stats when building their Expedite 12 loadout. Those stats are damage range and mobility. You want added damage range so they can more easily one-shot kill enemies and extra mobility will allow you to run faster and shoot the shotgun quicker.

  • Muzzle: XTEN Modified Choke
  • Barrel: 18.5” Emperor Barrel
  • Laser: 1mw Quick Fire Laser
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Bolt: Expedite L-Bolt

For this loadout, the XTEN Modified Choke and the 18.5″ Emperor Barrel take care of any damage range concerns players might have had. Then, the 1mw Quick Fire Laser and Merc Foregrip help with hip-fire accuracy and mobility.

While players will need to aim down sights at times, hip-firing is still the best way to use a shotgun, so extra hip-fire accuracy will help players immensely. Finally, the Expedite L-Bolt adds some much-needed fire rate to the Expedite 12 to truly round out this loadout.

As a final note, you can use the Expedite 12 in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
