The Cronen Squall is one of the best overall weapons that you can use right now in Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It’s currently dominating the Warzone meta and that has slightly transferred over into multiplayer thanks to the battle rifle’s incredible stats. You are able to easily control the Cronen Squall and deal some tremendous damage with it in MW2, provided you have the right loadout, of course.

Fortunately, the Cronen Squall has a solid amount of attachments that allow it to be a threat regardless of how you try to use it. However, you should be wary of using the battle rifle at close range. It’s much better suited for long range engagements, which is what you should remember when you are creating its loadout.

Luckily, I can take that burden off your hands, as you can read about my best Cronen Squall loadout in MW2 in the guide below.

Best Cronen Squall loadout in MW2

  • Muzzle: SA Leveler 55
  • Barrel: LR6.8 22″
  • Optic: AIM OP-V4
  • Stock: B66 Pad
  • Rear Grip: XTEN Grip

This loadout for the Cronen Squall is meant to even out its weaknesses while maximizing its strengths. The SA Leveler 55 immediately improves its recoil control while the LR6.8 22″ barrel increases damage range and recoil control.

The AIM OP-V4 is a fantastic mid-long range scope while the B66 Pad further improves accuracy. Finally, the XTEN Grip gives a slight boost to aim down sight speed and sprint-to-fire time, allowing the Cronen Squall to stand a chance against some faster weapons.

While the Cronen Squall does have some shortcomings, especially in close range, it can be one of the best all-around weapons in MW2 if you use this particular loadout. If you want to be more aggressive with the rifle, though, I would recommend swapping out the scope for a basic red dot and throwing on another mobility attachment.

As a final note, you can use the Cronen Squall in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
