If most players had to guess what was the best Call of Duty: Warzone weapon in terms of win rate or kill/death ratio, many might say the likes of the KG M40, Armaguerra 43 or NZ-41. All of these weapons have dominated the meta over the last few months, boasting power that’s nearly unmatched in Warzone. However, the actual best weapon in terms of both win rate and KDR is none other than a shotgun from Vanguard. The Combat Shotgun, to be more exact, is currently considered the best weapon in Warzone, and its top loadout should be known by every player heading into Season 5.

The Combat Shotgun was broken once upon a time in Warzone. At the start of Vanguard’s life cycle, the Combat Shotgun possessed qualities that made it a one-shot kill in some situations, which is nearly unheard of for a shotgun. However, after Raven Software saw how strong the Combat Shotgun was, they decided to nerf it, and hard. This left the Combat Shotgun in the basement of Warzone weapons. In fact, it’s technically still there, as according to the website WZRanked, the Combat Shotgun only has a pick rate of 0.8% at the end of Season 4. That might change, however, once players hear how strong its top loadout is.

Best Combat Shotgun loadout in Warzone

As of right now, the Combat Shotgun has a win rate of 4.77% and a KDR of 1.42, both of which top the Warzone weapon leaderboards. This increase in the Combat Shotgun’s viability likely stems from its buff in Season 4 Reloaded. The developers buffed the shotgun’s max pellet damage by 26%, which has seemingly made it one of the top secondary weapons in Warzone.

  • Muzzle: M97 Full Choke

The loadout for the Combat Shotgun focuses on damage and mobility above all else. Of course, with the gun being so dependent on close-range gunfights, players want to ensure they’re running a primary long-range weapon on their loadout. The Combat Shotgun might be stronger now, but it still can’t be a main loadout gun in Warzone.
