There are four traditional assault rifles in the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta: the STG44, Volk, ITRA Burst and BAR. The former two are both fully automatic with decent fire rates and the ITRA Burst is the classic three-round burst rifle that every Call of Duty features. However, the last entry on the list, the BAR, is unlike any of its class counterparts. While it is fully auto, it shoots incredibly slow, which gives players some trouble when designing a loadout for it.

To offset the slow fire rate, the BAR has amazing damage and range. It’s also somewhat mobile, which only complicates the possible loadout for the BAR. Luckily for players, a recommended loadout has surfaced for the BAR in Vanguard and it takes its strengths and weaknesses into consideration.

Best BAR loadout in Vanguard

To start, this loadout utilizes the BAR’s excellent damage range and accuracy instead of its mobility. This is because of the BAR’s fire rate. It simply won’t be able to outgun most of Vanguard’s SMGs or other ARs in close-range. Its fire rate is too slow to be reliable in close-range.

However, this isn’t the end of the world. The BAR can be a mini-sniper in Vanguard with the right attachment set-up.

  • Muzzle: G28 Compensator
  • Barrel: CGC 27″ 2B
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Chariot WR
  • Underbarrel: M3 Ready Grip
  • Ammo Type: Subsonic
  • Rear Grip: Leather Grip
  • Proficiency: Hardscope
  • Kit: Fast Melee

The only attachment that doesn’t fit with the loadout’s goal is the Leather Grip, which adds some extra ADS speed. This is solely for a situation that players need to get their gun up quickly against an enemy in close proximity. If they can’t get their gun up quickly enough, though, then they have the Fast Melee Kit.

The rest of the loadout utilizes attachments that improve recoil control, damage range and accuracy. This BAR loadout is best used at long-range, preferably while not moving around the map too much. Picking power positions and going to work is the best course of action with this BAR loadout.
