On Wednesday, Teamfight Tactics will be officially launching its mid-set expansion for TFT: Gizmos and Gadgets. Patch 12.4, which launches on the same day, will introduce TFT Neon Nights. This is also known as TFT Set 6.5. The massive update will be bringing a ton of new champions, traits, augments and cosmetics to the game. For a look at everything new coming to the game, players can check out Upcomer’s TFT Neon Nights hub for all the info. For everything else, here are the highlights players should look for in TFT Patch 12.4.
In TFT Patch 12.4, players will have their rank reset down one tier. This means that if players were in Diamond 1 they will be demoted back to Platinum 1 to start the new ranked season. All players above Masters will be reset back to Diamond 4 regardless of LP. Players will have to play their placement matches again as part of the new season and expansion.
Ranked rewards will also be handed out based on final placements during the first half of TFT Set 6. Emotes will be given for each of the three game modes. If players played Double Up, Hyper Roll and the standard game mode, they will be receiving emotes based on their ranks sometime in TFT Patch 12.4.
As for the other big system change coming in TFT Patch 12.4, players will now be able to see who they are fighting in the next rounds through the brand new Opponent Matchup Tracker. This will let players know of opponents they have yet to fight during the current stage and will have an icon by their health bar indicating that they may be their next opponent. Previously this info was only available through add-ons but now there is an official one in-game.
Since this is the very first patch of the new set, there are a lot of adjustments being made to nearly every single existing trait, champion and augment. Some of the biggest changes include Ekko becoming an Innovator in addition to his other traits. Vi is also getting a big change by becoming a four-cost champion. Jinx is getting a damage buff and traits like Socialite and Mutant are being expanded. For a full look at all the new changes check out the official patch notes.
