Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi announced in a Twitlonger that he will be a free agent shortly after arriving home from VALORANT Champions.

Sacy previously played for Team Vikings, who won the Brazilian masters tournament and qualified for the first international championship. Both placements earned the team a spot at VALORANT Champions in Berlin, where the team placed 12th despite a valiant effort in their group.

“I just arrived from Berlin with the team and I bring this news that I am a free agent,” Sacy said in his TwitLonger through a translator. “Despite our not-so-positive results, I can assure you that we trained and gave our best from start to finish.”

Sacy had an outstanding performance at VALORANT Champions, despite Team Vikings going 1-2 overall in their group. In the team’s victory against Crazy Raccoon, Sacy had a 1.71 Kills/Deaths overall with an ACS score of 287. That performance continued even in their loss to Gambit Esports, where Sacy earned a 1.39 K/D after earning 60 kills in the best-of-three series.

Team Vikings speak out after Champions

Shortly after Sacy announced his free agency, Team Vikings made their own announcement via a TwitLonger. This Tweet explained that Team Vikings wish to renew all of their current contracts but that the negotiations have not concluded yet.

“As you may have seen, some of our athletes have spoken out regarding the termination of their contracts with VKS,” Team Vikings said through translation. “However, this is not a farewell. Our board seeks to renew with all our VALORANT players and has not concluded any negotiations so far.”

Additionally, Team Vikings expressed that they will always want to strengthen their roster, regardless of their performance at a major event. Whether that strength will be with their previous lineup or not has yet to be seen.
