Starfield may be new but that hasn’t stopped passionate modders from already creating mods that improve gameplay and characters’ appearances. If you want to manage and install mods with ease, you can use Mod Organizer 2 for Starfield.

Bethesda has supported the mod community for its past titles, including Skyrim and Fallout. Both games have well over 50,000 mods each and it’s looking like Starfield may be the next one to get tens of thousands of mods. Todd Howard even called the game a “modder’s paradise.”

What’s Mod Organizer 2?

Mod Organizer 2 is a tool that allows you to easily customize Starfield. You can organize all your mods without interfering with the game itself. Then, when you want to play with one of those mods, you can use Mod Organizer 2 to launch it in the game.

How to install mods in Starfield 2

If you have some mods in mind, you’ll first need to set up something called Archive Invalidation. This allows the game to recognize the mods you put in.

First, download a device called BethINI Performance INI Editor. Unzip it and open it. Then, pick Starfield and click on Load Loose Files. Go to the File menu and click on Save.

Then, download Mod Organizer 2 to your PC. Unzip the mod that you want to use and put it into the Mod Organizer 2 folder. Then launch the modorganizer.exe software.

When it opens, create a Portable Instance to create an area specifically for Starfield mods. Select Starfield and start putting in mods. Remember to specify the data path so the mods work properly in the game.
