After a successful three days at PAX Aus, Square Enix announced plans to host a suite of global Final Fantasy XIV fan festivals. These events will celebrate Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). It’s one of the most played MMORPGs and recently hit 27 million players. Here’s all the details.

Global fans, global community

FFXIV now has 27 million players globally. This was very evident at PAX Aus, where fans lined up for hours just to play through a single raid boss. In-game queue times show the eagerness from players and Square Enix continues to respond with new content. Square Enix launched the Oceania data center at the start of the year to cater to players in the region.

Now that travel has opened around the world, Square Enix can provide players with in person events rather than than simply in-game events and expansions.

The fan festivals will take place during 2023 and 2024, with three locations confirmed. In 2023, fans can gather in Las Vegas, Nevada at Las Vegas Convention Center and London, United Kingdom at The ExCel Centre.

Fans in America will see the festival during the summer as the LA event will take place July 28 and 29, 2023. For those players in London, you can enjoy the festivities October 21 and 22, 2023.

Players in the Oceania and Asia region will have to wait a little longer for the FFXIV Fan Festival. Japan is set to play host to the gathering in early 2024, but exact dates are yet to be confirmed.

FFXIV Fan Festivals

The Square Enix FFXIV Fan Festivals have run in the past, but players have missed out the last few years. The 2021 festival took place completely online. In 2017 and 2018, the FFXIV Fan Festival took place in Las Vegas, Paris, and Tokyo. Las Vegas seems to be a popular location as it’s returning for next year. Square Enix’s headquarters are in Tokyo. Whilst the location for the Japan 2024 event is yet to be announced, we can speculate that it will again take place in the same city.

Stay tuned for more information. Ticket sales will be released soon. In the meantime, fans can take advantage of the new side story quests, weapons, trials, dungeons, and more being released in Patch 6.25 on October 18.
