The attendee list for Ludwig Ahgren’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament Last Chance Qualifier went live on Thursday, revealing a stacked line-up of competitors. In particular, the Ludwig Smash Invitational LCQ will feature top international players like Te Tuhi “Spud” Kelly, Tommy “Pricent” Lindås, and Juhana “Solobattle” S.
Spud, the former No. 1 player in Australia, and Pricent, the best player in Norway, will both be making their first tournament appearances since early 2020. Meanwhile, Solobattle, the No. 1 player in Finland, will compete in the United States for the very first time.
Other top players from outside of the United States have registered for the Ludwig Smash Invitational LCQ as well. These include Spain’s Álvaro “Trif” García Moral and Panama’s Juan “JCAM” Alcedo, neither of whom have competed in the States since the Smash World Tour Championships in December of 2021.

The Ludwig Smash Invitational will take place from October 21-23 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Qualified players from the LCQ will join a roster of invited players that includes Zain “Zain” Naghmi, Joseph “Mang0” Marquez, Jake “Jmook” DiRado and many more.

Before Josh “Joshman” Lyras’ rise to the top 15, Spud was the highest-ranked Oceanian Melee player in the world. He peaked at No. 38 on the 2019 MPGR and has beaten the likes of Cody “iBDW” Schwab, Edgard “n0ne” Sheleby and Zac “SFAT” Cordoni. However, his most recent tournament appearance was a mediocre 33rd-place finish at Genesis 7 in January of 2020.
Meanwhile, Pricent peaked at No. 89 on the 2019 MPGR. The last time they came to the States, they beat DaJuan “Shroomed” McDaniel at Smash Summit 9 in February of 2020. But, after entering a single online tournament that March, they stepped back away from entering Melee brackets.
Solobattle has actively competed in online tournaments over the past two years, cementing himself as one of the best players in Europe. Nevertheless, the Ludwig Smash Invitational LCQ will mark his first offline major since Valhalla III in Denmark in January of 2020. At that event, he double-eliminated Trif to place third.
